Have you found yourself traveling alone on a long road trip?  I have.  I have some great tips that can make it pleasant and not boring.

The first thing I do is prepare my car and have it all checked out to make sure I get to my destination safely.  In order to make your trip fun, make sure to bring music that makes you feel great to listen to and sing along like karaoke.  If you have that someone special or a friend that you like to speak with on the phone, and your vehicle has hands-free Bluetooth, this can also keep you occupied and make your trip pleasant.  It really works, so try it.  I am sure that it will work for you.  Just remember – never use hand-held phones and never, ever text while driving!

Also having your favorite snacks will allow you to control your cravings.  And having a cooler with water or juice if you get thirsty really helps.  If you’re a coffee or iced coffee lover, having a thermos is awesome.  This will save you time so you don’t have to stop for coffee or a full meal.

This can help you so you can travel further to maximize your time and fuel consumption.  Know how many miles will travel so you can calculate your next stop or resting location.  When making a fuel stop is the best time to stretch and to use the bathroom.  This is my best advice to take advantage of your time while stopped and it also helps the engine to cool down.  Always be proactive on checking for any signs of engine fluid leaks, loss of tire pressure – always check!  Of course, if you need to stop by all means stop and get a full meal and/or rest.  This is very important.  You need to be well rested to drive long distances.  Keep the music going and have fun driving and soon enough you will reach your destination.  And always drive safely!
